Bangor, ME - The Husson University Eagles ended the regular
season dropping a 1-4 match to the Colby College Mules. With
the loss, Husson falls to 13-14 and Colby ends their season with a
record of (8-16). Husson finished second in the North
Atlantic Conference and will play in the NAC semifinals on November
7.
The Mules set the tone early winning the first set 14-25.
Husson rallied to take the second set 25-21 only to fall to the
Mules in the third 13-25. Colby won the fourth and final set
13-25 off a Maggie Taylor (Fy., Cabin John, MD) kill and Megan
Conroy (Sr., San Francisco, CA) assist.
On the loss, Husson's Hannah Olstad (Fy., Farmington, NH)
notched six kills, two digs and two service aces. Maya
Vysokikh (Sr., Novoskbirsk, Rissia) contributed six kills and three
digs and Marion Kish (Sr., Wallingford, CT) added three kills,
seven digs and two service aces. Colby's Caitlin Burchill
(So., Walpole, ME) contributed fourteen kills and eleven digs
toward the Mules' victory. Heather Arvidson (Jr., Andover,
MA) tallied eight kills and two solo blocks and Emily Ten Eyck
(Fy., Minnetrista, MN) recorded twenty-one assists and two
aces.
The Eagles return to action on November 7 when they play in the
NAC semi finals at Maine Maritime. Husson will play the
winner of a first round match between Castleton and Lyndon State at
12:00 PM.
