Box Score The Husson Eagles swept the Universtiy of Southern Maine Huskies
3-0 (25-18, 25-16,25-21). With the win, the Eagles improve to
11-12 on the season while the Huskies fall to 4-13. The
evening's games were played with a "Dig Pink" theme in recognition
of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Husson's Hannah Olstad (Fy., Farmington, NH) tallied 8 kills and
Aleta Johnson (Fy., Milton, NH) served up four aces to lead the
Eagles to victory. For the Huskies, Danielle Netland (Sr.,
Cumberland, ME) tallied 4 kills and Laurei Boulay (So., Biddeford,
ME) contributed 14 assists on the loss. Faced with their
second match point, Southern Maine's Boulay served a big ace to
keep her team in the game at 24-21 but the Huskies could not come
back from the deficit. Husson's Maya Vysokikh (Sr.,
Novoskbirsk, Russia) won the match with a kill.
The evening was dedicated to breast cancer awareness, featuring
Newman Gynmasium decorated in pink, a courtside information table,
and pink warm up shirts worn and sold by the Eagles to raise
charitable funds.
Husson University returns to action with a home conference match
against Thomas College on Thursday, October 22 at 7:00.
