Castine, Maine - Husson University got a goal in the first minute and half of the match and held on for a 1-0 victory over Maine Maritime Friday evening at Ritchie Field. With the win Husson improves 2-0 in the NAC while MMA drops to 1-1 in conference play.

The Eagles took the 1-0 lead and eventual game winner just two minutes into the contest when Megan Clement (Brunswick, ME) scored directly from a corner kick. The Clement service was placed perfectly over the MMA keeper into the far corner.

Both teams remained scoreless for the rest of the half as the Eagles went into half time with the 1-0 lead. Both teams had scoring chances in the second half but failed to convert those opportunities into goals.

Jen Plourde (Howland, ME) recorded the shut out for Husson making 3 saves on 9 shots. Lacey Jackson (York, PA) took the loss for MMA making 11 saves on 33 shots. The win improves Husson's record to 8-3-0 on the season while MMA drops to 5-5-0.
