Box Score Bangor, ME – The Eagles cruised by previously undefeated
U. Maine Fort Kent with a 7-0 win. Samantha Homer (Jr, Charlton,
MA) recorded her third game of the season with three goals or more
to pace the Eagles. Husson and UMFK are now both 4-1.
Shelby Bradford (Jr, Lee, ME) scored Husson first goal 13:54 into
the game. The Eagles given a direct kick 19 yards out and Bradford
put it by Kayla Daigle (So, Frenchville, ME) making it 1-0. Homer
found the net for her first goal with just under 5 minutes to go in
the half as she cleaned up a rebound making it 2-0 at the half.
The Eagles erupted for 5 second half goals, Katie Nickerson (Sr,
Belfast, ME) scored 1:54 into the half off a nice pass from Megan
Clement (So, Brunswick, ME). Clement connected on the next goal on
her own two minutes later and then assisted with Homer 13 minutes
into the half to make it 5-0.
Homer scored on an assist from Bradford next and Bradford found the
net on a great pass from Megan LaJoie (So, Van Buren, ME) for the
game's final goal. Bradford ended with 2 goals and an assist
while Clement 1 goal and 2 assists.
Daigle ended with 8 saves against 32 shots and Tatyana Wolterbeek
(Sr, Wells, ME) had 2 saves against 4 shots.
Husson host Wheaton College on Saturday, September 20th at 1:00 pm.
UMFK host SUNY – Canton on Saturday, September 20th at 1:00
