Box Score Bangor, ME – Husson University advanced to the ECAC
Semi-Final with a 3-0 win over U. Maine Southern at the John
Boucher Field. Tyler Metevier (Fy, Kittery) had two goals to pace
the Eagles.
Metievier put Husson up 1-0 at 25:36 when he put home a rebound off
a Justin Gauvin (Jr, Woolwich, ME) shot. Metievier found space past
David Kreps (Jr, Agawam, MA) who made the initial save on Gauvin
shot.
Natapong Kongsuriya (Sr, Hampden, ME) set up Josh Bartlett (Sr,
Bowdoinham, ME) two minutes later putting Husson up 2-0. Kongsuriya
made a rush down the right side and played the ball to the front of
the net, Bartlett was there to finish the play.
Kongsuriya finished with two assists as he set up Metiever at the
76:51 mark to put the game out of reach 3-0. He back kicked a pass
to Metiever on the left side and Metiever shaped a ball to the top
right corner.
Miguel Dominguez (So, Rome, GA) had 6 saves in the win while Kreps
finished with 5 saves. Steve May made a defensive save for the
Huskies off a shot by Knogsuriya to keep the game scoreless in the
first half.
Husson is now 11-6-1 while U. Southern Maine finishes their season
at 12-9.
Husson will travel to Eastern Conn. State College on Saturday,
November 15 at 1:00 pm for an ECAC Semi-Final match-up.
