Box Score Bangor, ME – The Eagles have struggled to find the net all
year long but erupted for 10 goals in the NAC Semi-Final match up
with Lyndon State College. Husson cruised to the 10-0 win advancing
to the NAC championship game.
Husson scored two goals in the first 4:11 and never looked back.
Mark Trombley (Jr, Burnham, ME) scored the first goal off an assist
by Justin Gauvin (Jr, Woolwich, ME) just 2:03 into the game. Nathan
Carter (Jr, Presque Isle, ME) made a nice pass to Natapong
Kongsuriya (Sr, Hampden, ME) who rifled it past Jeff Giroux (Sr,
Derby, VT) making it 2-0 4:11 into the game.
Seven different Eagles scored, Trombley finished with two goals.
Tyler Metevier (Fy, Kittery, ME) added a pair of goals off the
bench and Jeff Truchon (Sr, Greene, ME) had 2 goals and 1 assist.
Josh Bartlett (Sr, Bowdoinham, ME), Alex Martin (Fy, Van Buren, ME)
each had a goal and Elliott Megquier (Jr, Bangor, ME) scored off a
penalty kick to round out the goal scoring. Aaron Woodman (So,
Dexter, ME) and Justin Marks (Fy Winslow, ME) each had an
assist.
Giroux had 3 saves against 17 shots. Miguel Dominguez (So, Rome,
ME) and Brad Ala (Jr, Caribou, ME) split the game and each recorded
a save.
Husson is now 10-6 and will host the NAC Championship game on
Saturday, November 8. They will play the winner of #2 Castleton
State vs #3 U. Maine Farmington. Lyndon State finishes the season
at 10-8.
