Box Score Bangor, ME – The Eagles cruised to their 5th straight win
as the Eagles beat Simmons College 9-3. Erica Dorso (Sr,
Farmingdale, ME) broke the career scoring record, as she had 4
goals and 3 assists on the day.
Erica Dorso scored the Eagles first three goals as they raced to a
3-1 lead in the first 12 minutes of play. Michelle Barden (Sr,
Saint Albans, ME) assisted on two of them.
Katie Bonney (Sr, Auburn, ME) had Simmon's first goal
assisted by Emily Sypher (Jr, Orono, ME). Kelly Garrity (Fy,
Reading, MA) scored unassisted to cut the game to 3-2.
Erica Dorso set up Jillian Morin (So, Manchester, ME) to push the
lead to 4-2 before half. The Eagles pushed their lead to 7-2 with
three goals in the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half. Krystal
Doughty (Sr, Lisbon Falls, ME) had two goals both assisted by Erica
Dorso and Elisha Dorso (Jr, Farmingdale, ME) scored unassisted.
Sypher scored for the Sharks to make it 7-3, the goal was assisted
by Kara Masse (So, Portland, ME). Jen Szkolt (Jr, Bondsville, MA)
had 6 saves in net for Simmons.
Erin Nason (Sr, Unity, ME) scored off an assisted by Elisha Dorso
and Barden connected with Erica Dorso again to round out the
scoring. Caroline Bochtler (So, Turner, ME) had 4 saves and Kelsey
Boshover (Sr, Vassalboro, ME) had a defensive save.
Erica Dorso now has 112 career points breaking the career scoring
record previously held by Karol-Anne Emery of 109. She now has 16
goals on the season.
The Eagles have won 5 straight out scoring their opponents 32-5 in
those five games. Husson moves to 6-7 (3-3 NAC) while Simmons falls
to 5-13 (1-5 NAC)
The NAC Championship begins this week with ¼ final games on
Wednesday, October 28th. The seedings will be announced on Monday,
October 29th.
