Eagles Roll Past Lasell 6-1

Bangor, ME – Erica Dorso (Sr, Farmingdale, ME) scored three goals and assisted on another to lead the Eagles to a 6-1 win over Lasell College.

Jill Morin (So, Manchester, ME) got the Eagles started as she set up Husson's first goal :16 seconds into the game. Morin took the ball down the field from the start and fired a shot on goal, Christina Thornton (Fy, Canton, MA) made the first stop but Morin passed the rebound to Elisha Dorso (Jr, Farmingdale, ME) who found the back of the net.

Elisha Dorso scored 6 minutes later off an assist from Courtney Allen (So, Gardiner, ME). Allen took the corner pass from Erica Dorso and found Elisha Dorso in front of the net to put Husson up 2-0. Elisha Dorso finished with two goals, giving her 8 goals on the year.

Erica Dorso factored in the Husson's next four goals, scoring three and assisting on the other. She put the Eagles up 3-0 with an unassisted goal at the 16:03 mark.

Lasell answered with a goal off a corner with no time on the clock in the first half. Keeping the ball in the circle as time expired Meagan DeAndrade (Jr, New Bedford, MA) found Hannah Cebry (Fy, Burlington, CT) for Lasell's only goal.

Lasell had a good opportunity to cut the game to 3-2 with 26 minutes to play. Leading scorer Caitlyn Walker (Jr, Middlebury, CT) raced down the right side making a great pass to the front of the net as she entered the circle but Kelsey Bushover (Sr, Vassalboro, ME) knocked the ball away to keep it 3-1.

Dorso set up Allen a minute later to make it 4-1 and give moment back to the Eagles. Dorso scored her 11th and 12th goals on the season to finish off the scoring. Lorri Hiltz (Fy, Norridgework, ME) assisted on Dorso's 11th goal on the year.

Thornton finished with 17 saves facing consent pressure. Husson ended with 16 corners. Caroline Bouchtler (So, Turner, ME) had 7 saves for the Eagles.

Husson is now 2-3 (5-7 overall) in NAC play and with a win tomorrow will host a first round tournament game. Lasell drops to 2-3 NAC and 7-8 overall.

Both teams are back in action on Saturday, October 26th - Husson host Simmons College while Lasell travels to Saint Joseph College both games start at 1:00 pm.
