Box Score Bangor, ME – Julie Brown (Sr, Lynnfield, MA) scored the
game winning goal with just under 6 minutes to play as Bates topped
Husson 3-2. Husson drops to 10-3 while Bates moves to 4-6.
Brown received a crossing pass from Katherine Bailey (So,
Winchester, MA) and found the back of the net for her 6th goal of
the season. Bailey made a nice individual effort as she headed the
ball past the defender to clear space for the pass.
Bates lead at half time 1-0 as Brown set up the first goal of the
game. She served a corner to Sam Alper (Fy, Holliston, MA) and
Alper finished it off 15 yards out.
Megan Clement (So, Brunswick, ME) tied the game 1:40 into the
second half. Clement fought through traffic and beat Annie Burns
(Fy, Topsfield, ME) for her 7th goal of the season.
The Bobcats answered eight minutes later off another corner as
Alper set up Courtney Talcott (Fy, Millbury, MA). Husson tied the
score at the 64th minutes as Samantha Homer (Jr, Charlton, MA) got
a through ball from Kylan Smith (So, Presque Isle, ME) to beat
Burns one on one.
Burns kept the game tied at two, as she finished with 2 saves. Both
saves denied Shelby Bradford (Jr, Lee, ME) the go ahead goal.
Bradford found space on two occasions and fired from 20 yard out
but Burns made the save keeping it 2-2 setting up Brown's
game winning goal.
Tatyana Wolterbeek had 6 saves against 16 shots.
