Bangor, ME – Bowdoin beat Husson 3-1 in a non conference soccer battle at John Boucher Field. Nick Powell (Fy, Enfield, NH) had a goal and assist to pace the Polar Bears.

Bowdoin led at half time 1-0, scoring off a shot that bounced off defender Josh Bartlett's (Sr, Bowdoinham, ME) leg into the goal. The Polar Bears went up 2-0 as Powell set up Call Nichols (Fy, Mill Valley, CA). Powell played a corner short and got the ball back, attacking the goal he found Nichols in front of the net for the score.

Justin Gavin (Jr, Woolwich, ME) cut the lead to 2-1 with just under five minutes to play. Tyler Metevier (Fy, Kittery, ME) crossed a pass to Gavin 30 yards out and Gavin drilled it home in the right corner of the net.

Powell added an insurance goal a minute later, Ben Denton-Schneider (Jr, San Fafael, CA) assisted on the goal.

Dan Hicks (Jr, New York, NY) had 5 saves for Bowdoin while Brad Ala (Jr, Caribou, ME) had 8 saves.

Both teams next play on Saturday, October 18th as Husson host Maine Maritime at 3:00 pm and Bowdoin College host Trinity College at 12:00 pm.
