Kate Goupee has served as the head coach of the Husson women's cross country program since May 2014 and has led the Eagles to back-to-back North Atlantic Conference Championships and 10-straight USTFCCCA All-Academic Team selections.

In addition to her women's cross country duties, Goupee also serves as the head men's cross country coach and head coach of both the men's and women's track & field programs. Additionally, Goupee serves as the NAC sports chair for men's and women's track & field and on the NCAA men's and women's track & field rules committee while being selected to be a mentor in the USTFCCCA female coaching mentorship program in 2020. Goupee also holds a USTFCCCA technical certification (2012, 2019) and a USTFCCCA endurance event specialist certification (2021).

Goupee arrived at Husson in 2012 serving as an assistant cross country coach for two seasons after spending the previous four seasons as the head cross country coach at Mount Desert Island High School from 2006-09 after serving as an assistant coach for the previous two season. Additionally, Goupee was awarded the Maine Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association Class B Coach of the Year in 2006, the Portland Press Herald State of Maine Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2006, as well as the Penobscot Valley Conference Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2008.

A 2003 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington, Goupee was a four-year letterwinner on the women's cross country team earning all-conference and NAIA All-Region accolades in four-straight seasons from 1999-2002, including back-to-back Conference and NAIA Region 10 Runner of the Year honors in 2001 and 2002. The three-time captain was the 2001 Maine Intercollegiate State Championship individual runner-up and an NAIA National Championship qualifier for three seasons from 2000-02, earning NAIA All-American honors with a 21st place finish at the 2002 NAIA National Championship. Off the course, Goupee was named an NAIA Academic All-American in 2001 and 2002. Goupee's accomplishments on the course and in the classroom culminated in a 2022 selection into the UMaine-Farmington Hall of Fame.

The Dedham, Maine native attended Brewer High School and lettered in cross country from 1995-98 and was a member of three Class A State Championship teams.

Kate and her husband, Andy, have two daughters, Belle and Nelly.
