BRUNSWICK, Maine — The Husson University men's golf team concluded the Bowdoin Invitational with a final-round score of 300 on Sunday at Brunswick Golf Club, finishing 11th in the 16-team field.
The Eagles improved by two strokes from their second-round 302 and six strokes from their opening-round 306 to finish the 54-hole tournament with a team score of 908.
Sophomore Michael Bruce led Husson during the final round, carding a 2-over 74. Bruce finished the tournament tied for 22nd individually at 7-over after rounds of 73, 76 and 74.
Senior Juan Carlos Hernandez also posted a 2-over 74 on Sunday, matching Bruce for the Eagles' lowest round of the day. Hernandez climbed nine spots on the individual leaderboard to finish tied for 32nd at 10-over following rounds of 78, 74 and 74.
Senior Ty Dickson contributed Husson's third counting score with a 4-over 76. Dickson concluded the weekend tied for 25th at 9-over after rounds of 75, 74 and 76.
Senior Jace Cook rounded out the Eagles' four counting scores with a 4-over 76, improving six strokes from his second-round score. Cook finished tied for 72nd at 22-over after rounds of 80, 82 and 76.
Sophomore Chase Farnsworth also competed for Husson, shooting a 6-over 78 during the final round. Farnsworth finished tied for 70th at 21-over with rounds of 81, 78 and 78.
Husson's 300 on Sunday tied for the sixth-lowest team round of the day and helped the Eagles move up three spots in the final team standings.
New York University captured the team championship with a three-round score of 880 after shooting a final-round 291. Middlebury College finished second at 886 following the lowest team round of the day at 288, while Tufts University placed third at 888.
NYU's Tanmay Chandra earned individual medalist honors at 7-under for the tournament, while the University of Southern Maine's Will Farschon finished second at 5-under and Trinity College's Charlie Mullin placed third at 3-under.
The Eagles are back on the course on Tuesday when they compete in the Seawolf Shootout at the Purpoodock Golf Club in South Portland.
