SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — The Husson University women's golf team finished fourth at the Seawolf Shootout on Sunday at the Purpoodock Golf Club after darkness forced the tournament to be shortened to 16 holes.

With the entire field unable to complete 18 holes, only scores through the first 16 holes were used for the final results. Team scoring consisted of each program's three lowest 16-hole scores.

The Eagles posted a three-player total of 265, finishing fourth in the six-team field. The University of New England captured the team title with a 231, followed by Southern Maine Community College in second at 247 and Gordon College in third at 258. The University of Southern Maine finished fifth at 267, while Saint Joseph's College of Maine rounded out the team standings in sixth with a 295.

Husson was led by sophomore Caroline Chausse, who carded an 82 over the 16 holes. Chausse finished tied for sixth individually with Southern Maine's Remy Levin.

Freshman Alison Mitchell recorded Husson's second counting score with a 91, while sophomore Riley Fyfe completed the Eagles' team total with a 92. 

SMCC's Grace Thompson and UNE's Amanda Forziati shared medalist honors based on the 16-hole results after both posted rounds of 72, while UNE's Abby Flanagan finished one stroke back with a 73.

The final team standings were UNE (231), SMCC (247), Gordon (258), Husson (265), Southern Maine (267) and Saint Joseph's (295).

The Eagles are back in action on Oct. 4 for the USM Husky Classic at the Riverside Golf Course, hosted by the University of Southern Maine.
