BRUNSWICK, Maine — The Husson University women's cross country team finished ninth at the 2026 Maine State Championships on Saturday, competing against some of the top programs in the state at Bowdoin College.

The Eagles recorded 269 points in the 6K race, finishing with a total time of 2:14:13 and an average time of 26:50. Husson finished ahead of Central Maine Community College and Maine Maritime Academy in the 11-team field. The University of Maine won the team title with 19 points, followed by Bates College with 63 and host Bowdoin with 83.

Freshman Elise Ouellette paced the Eagles, crossing the finish line in 99th overall with a time of 26:05.6. Ouellette averaged 6:59.9 per mile and recorded a scoring position of 50th.

Fellow freshman Kelsey Paradee followed closely behind, placing 101st overall in 26:26.9 to give Husson its second scoring performance of the afternoon.

Sophomore Nina Huber was the third Eagle across the finish line, recording a time of 27:03.4 to place 111th overall, while junior Molly Dearborn finished just three seconds behind Huber in 112th with a time of 27:06.3.

Sophomore Lucinda Carroll rounded out Husson's five scoring runners, finishing 117th overall with a time of 27:31.8. Freshman Jadyn Bell crossed the line in 27:52.1 to finish 123rd, while freshman Katelyn Gibbs completed the Eagles' lineup in 129th with a time of 28:19.3.

Husson is back in action on Oct. 3 when it takes part in the Thomas Invitational.
