WATERVILLE, Maine — The Husson University men's golf captured both the team and individual titles at the University of Maine at Farmington Invitational on Saturday at Waterville Country Club, as the Eagles finished 12 strokes clear of the field and senior Ty Dickson earned medalist honors.

Husson posted a team score of 13-over par to claim the eight-team tournament, comfortably ahead of runner-up Colby College at 25-over. Southern Maine Community College finished third at 37-over, followed by the University of New England at 38-over.

Dickson led the way for the Eagles, firing the only under-par round of the tournament at 1-under to finish two strokes ahead of Colby's Jack Marquardt and claim the individual title.

Senior Juan Carlos Hernandez added another top-three finish for Husson, tying for third at 3-over, while sophomore Michael Bruce finished alone in fifth at 4-over.

Sophomore Chase Farnsworth gave the Eagles four golfers inside the top seven, finishing tied for seventh at 7-over.

Senior Jace Cook rounded out Husson's lineup with a tie for ninth after carding an 8-over round, giving the Eagles all five golfers inside the top 10 individually.

Husson's 13-over team score gave the Eagles a 12-stroke victory over Colby, while Southern Maine Community College, the University of New England, Maine Maritime Academy, Saint Joseph's College of Maine, host University of Maine at Farmington and the University of Maine at Presque Isle rounded out the eight-team field.

The Eagles will look to continue their strong play at the Waterville Country Club on Sunday when they take part in the Colby Sid Farr Invitational.
