FARMINGTON, Maine — The Husson University women's cross country team placed five runners inside the top 11 to capture the team win on Saturday, finishing five points ahead of the University of Maine at Farmington at the North Atlantic Conference Preview Meet.

The Eagles recorded 30 points to claim first place, edging the Beavers, who finished runner-up with 35 points. Maine Maritime Academy rounded out the team standings in third with 73 points.

Freshman Elise Ouellette led Husson's effort with a third-place finish, completing the course in 25:36.21. Ouellette finished behind only Maine-Farmington's Lina Martinez Nocito and Amelia Hill, who placed first and second, respectively.

Husson then placed three consecutive runners from sixth through ninth among scoring competitors. Freshman Kelsey Paradee crossed the finish line sixth overall in 27:00.20, while sophomore Nina Huber followed in seventh with a time of 27:12.70.

Sophomore Lucinda Carroll added a ninth-place finish, clocking a time of 27:47.90, before junior Molly Dearborn completed Husson's five scoring performances in 11th with a time of 28:08.10.

Freshman Jadyn Bell was close behind, finishing 12th overall in 28:11.40, while freshman Katelyn Gibbs placed 17th with a time of 30:31.00. Sophomore Christina DeGiso rounded out Husson's finishers, crossing the line 23rd overall in 32:53.40.

The Eagles return to the course on Saturday for the State of Maine Intercollegiate Championship Meet in Brunswick.
