Men’s cross country takes part in Thomas Invite

WATERVILLE, Maine — Freshman Brady Pelletier recorded a top-15 finish to lead the Husson University men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Thomas College Invitational on Saturday.

The Eagles totaled 102 points in the 6K race, finishing behind team champion Thomas College, which recorded 22 points. Maine Maritime Academy finished runner-up with 43 points, while Central Maine Community College placed third with 81.

Pelletier led the way for Husson, finishing 13th overall with a time of 24:05.5. He averaged 6:27.7 per mile over the 6K course and earned 12 points toward the Eagles' team score.

Freshman Dylan Anderson was Husson's second runner across the finish line, placing 20th overall in 26:50.8.

Senior Carmy Kaniki followed with a 26th-place finish, completing the course in 30:33.7.

Junior Gage Moody and fifth year Dillon Haughton rounded out the Eagles' scoring five. Moody finished 29th overall with a time of 32:18.0, while Haughton crossed the finish line one position later in 30th with a time of 32:31.9.

Husson's five runners combined for a total time of 2:26:19 and an average time of 29:15.

Maine Maritime's William Spaulding captured the individual title with a time of 20:46.9, while Thomas placed five runners inside the top eight overall to earn the team championship.

The Eagles return to action on Oct. 17 for the Coach Dann Runnin' Monks Classic, hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
