Box Score JOHNSON, Vt. – The Husson University women's tennis team finished off a perfect weekend in Vermont, as it defeated Vermont State University Johnson 7-0 on Sunday morning in North Atlantic Conference action.
Husson (5-1, 3-1 NAC) continued its dominance with a clean-sweep of the six singles matches, as seniors Julia Barber and Joey Lynn Ramsdell kicked things off with wins of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0 respectively.
Junior Kayla Lockhart and sophomore Mallory Beaulieu kept things going, as Lockhart didn't drop a game in her 6-0, 6-0 victory, while Beaulieu captured a 6-1, 6-0 win.
Freshman Katelyn Cotter and junior Olivia Christensen closed out the perfect start for the Eagles, with Cotter winning 6-0, 6-0 and Christensen securing a 6-0, 6-2 win.
Husson continued its momentum into the doubles matches, as Barber and Ramsdell earned a 6-0 victory, while Lockhart and sophomore Anah Albert followed suit with a 6-0 win of their own.
Cotter and fellow first-year Sadie May concluded the day for Husson with a 6-1 win.
The Eagles carry a four-match win streak into Wednesday's conference clash with Thomas College, which is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Bangor High School Tennis Courts.
