BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's tennis team has announced Julia Spencer as its first commitment for the class of 2026.

Spencer comes to Husson from Brewer, Maine, where she attends Brewer High School.

Spencer is a varsity singles player for the Witches, where she was the third singles player as a junior and is projected to be the top singles player this season.

As a sophomore, Spencer made it to the State Championship game as a member of Brewer's top doubles team. As a junior, Spencer won 11 of 13 matches and helped the Witches lock up the second seed MPA tournament, while also earning Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference 2nd Team honors.

"Julia is a very valuable member of our tennis team in Brewer," said coach Adams of the Brewer Tennis Team. "She works hard to improve her game every year, is very coachable, and is a great teammate to the other players. Julia is a consistent tennis player who understands the game very well and is a proven winner in doubles and singles."

Off the court, Spencer has maintained high honors all four years and is a member of National Honor Society.

"I chose Husson, because of the close-knit learning community it offers," Spencer said. "I am excited to begin courses in the health sciences and physical therapy program. I get to continue learning, growing, and being involved in sports that I love."

While at Husson, Spencer will study exercise science/doctor of physical therapy.
