PORTLAND, Maine – The Husson University women's tennis team came up short on Sunday afternoon in the North Atlantic Conference Championship match against Simmons University, falling 5-2 to the Sharks at Apex Racket and Fitness.
Simmons (10-5) secured the match by taking four of the six singles contests over Husson (9-3), as sophomore Anah Albert posted a 6-1, 6-4 win out of the No. 4 singles spot, while freshman Katelyn Cotter captured a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles for the Eagles.
The Sharks picked up an additional point from the doubles decisions as they took two out of three matches with Cotter and freshman Sadie May earning a 6-3 win for Husson out of the No. 3 spot.
With the loss, the fall season has come to an end for the Husson women's tennis team, as it will return to action for two matches in the spring.
