GORHAM, Maine — The Husson University women's tennis team finished out a perfect weekend on Sunday beating the University of Southern Maine 9-0 on the road.
Husson (3-2) began Sunday's in-state showdown with a 3-0 sweep of USM (0-6) in
doubles, winning each match 8-0 as Junior
Julia Barber and freshman
Anah Albert won at No. 1 doubles, senior
Olivia Chandler and sophomore
Kayla Lockhart earned a win at No. 2 and graduate student
Emily Doten and junior Joey Lyn Ramsdell won at No. 3.
Barber continued her dominance at No.1 singles winning 6-0, 6-1, while Doten also posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
Ramsdell kept the streak going at No. 3, also winning 6-0, 6-1 and Lockhart earned a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 4.
Chandler earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5 and Albert picked up a perfect 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 6.
Husson will now host Thomas College for a doubleheader on Oct. 5 with the first match starting at 11 a.m.
