Box Score DELHI, N.Y. — The Husson University women's tennis team picked up a 7-2 North Atlantic Conference victory on the road against SUNY Delhi on Saturday.
Husson (2-2, 2-1 NAC) started out Saturday's conference showdown up 2-1 following doubles. Junior
Julia Barber and freshman
Anah Albert picked up an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while graduate student
Emily Doten and junior
Joey Lynn Ramsdell recorded an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
Delhi (2-6, 2-1 NAC) managed to come away with one doubles win and earned a tough win at No. 1 singles and Barber lost in a tie-breaker set, 7-5, 6-6 (7-6).
However, the Eagles would sweep the final five doubles matches, as Doten won 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 at No. 2.
Ramsdell earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 3, sophomore
Kayla Lockhart won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4 and senior
Olivia Chandler earned a 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 5.
Lastly, Albert picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles to give Husson the 7-2 decision.
The Eagles will now battle the University of Southern Maine on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
