Box Score BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University women's tennis team swept Vermont State University Johnson 9-0 for its home opener on Saturday in North Atlantic Conference action.
Husson (1-2) swept its way through doubles action on Saturday over VSU Johnson (2-4)
winning 8-0 at No. 1 doubles as the team of junior
Julia Barber and freshman
Anah Albert earned the win.
The Eagles No. 2 doubles team of graduate student
Emily Doten and junior
Joey Lynn Ramsdell also won 8-0, while Husson picked up a forfeit win at No. 3 doubles
Barber continued her impressive day at No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0, while Doten also won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Ramsdell picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles and sophomore
Kayla Lockhart earned a 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 4 singles.
Senior
Olivia Chandler and Albert both earned wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively with wins via forfeit.
Next up for the Eagles is a trip to Delhi, New York for a matchup against SUNY Delhi. Husson's doubleheader against Vermont State University Lyndon was postponed on Sunday with a makeup date to come be announced later.
