Box Score MILTON, Mass. – The Husson University women's tennis team was defeated in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon, as it fell to Curry College by a score of 6-3 in Milton, Massachusetts.
Husson (0-2) fell behind to start Sunday's match, as junior Julia Barber and freshman Anah Albert dropped the No. 1 doubles match by a decision of 8-5.
The Eagles managed to take care of business in the other two doubles matches, as graduate student Emily Doten and junior Joey Lynn Ramsdell won 8-5, while senior Olivia Chandler and sophomore Kayla Lockhart earned an 8-1 win.
Barber secured a win for Husson in the first singles match thanks to a 6-2, 6-4 win, while Curry (1-5) knotted the overall score up at three, with 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win in the No. 2 singles match and a 7-5, 6-3 victory in the No. 3 singles match.
The Colonels managed to take the final three singles matches, as Lockhart fell 6-6 (7-6 tiebreak), 6-4, while Chandler dropped the No. 5 singles match 6-4, 6-6 (7-5 tiebreak) and Albert fell in straight-sets 6-3, 6-3.
The Eagles are in action at home for the first time on Saturday when they host Vermont State University Johnson at 12 p.m.
