Box Score CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Husson University women's tennis team dropped its season opener 5-4 on the road against Lesley University on Saturday.
Husson (0-1) found itself down 2-1 following doubles as the Eagles No.1 doubles team of junior
Julia Barber and freshman
Anah Albert lost 8-4, while the No. 2 doubles team of graduate student
Emily Doten and junior
Joey Lynn Ramsdell fell 8-0.
Senior
Olivia Chandler and sophomore
Kayla Lockhart picked up the Eagles only doubles win with an 8-0 decision.
In singles action, Barber fell 6-1 and 6-2 to give the Bobcats a 3-1 lead, while Doten and Ramsdell fell 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 and No. 3 singles respectively.
Lockhart picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles, while Chandler and Albert each recorded wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles with 6-0 victories in each set.
Next up for the Eagles is an 11 a.m. showdown on the road against Curry College on Sunday.
