MILTON, Mass – The Husson University closed out its spring schedule on Sunday morning with a 6-3 victory over Curry College in road action.
Husson (7-3) fell behind in Sunday's match after senior Molly Chicoine and sophomore Julia Barber dropped the opening doubles match 8-2, but quickly recovered to win the final two doubles matches, as senior Emily Doten and sophomore Joey Lynn Ramsdell picked up an 8-2 win, while junior Olivia Chandler and freshman Kayla Lockhart cruised to an 8-0 win.
Barber sent the Eagles into a 1-0 deficit on the singles side after she fell 6-0, 6-0 to Sasha Borkov and put Curry (0-14) in front. Doten and Chicoine each secured wins in their matches to further the lead for the Eagles, as Doten picked up a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 win over Serena Wilson, while Chicoine bested Sam Ferrara 6-1, 6-4.
Ramsdell fell in straight-sets to Grace Coopee, dropping both sets by a score of 6-4. Lockhart and Chandler picked up the final two wins on the singles side for Husson, as Lockhart defeated Cayla Osowski in three sets, while Chandler wrapped up the day by besting Cate Pierce in straight-sets, 6-0, 6-1.
The Eagles have concluded their 2023-24 season.
