Women’s swimming & diving swims past Saint Joseph’s (CT), Plymouth State

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Husson University women's swimming & diving team picked up a pair of head-to-head victories over the University of Saint Joseph 147.5-146.5 and Plymouth State University 181-87 on the road Saturday. 
 
Husson began Saturday's meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:08.05, edging Saint Joseph (Conn.) by .79 seconds. Senior Erin Madden, sophomore Logan Willliams and freshmen Morgan Collins and Mariah Muskavitch picked up the win. 
 
Sophomore Isabella Cost and junior Maggie Poulin finished second and third in the 1,000-meter freestyle with times of 14:06.17 and 14:12.09, respectively. 
 
Collins also posted a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:18.13, while freshman Sofia Herrington finished fourth with a 2:27.88 and sophomore Mackenzie Gray posted a 2:31.60 to finish fifth. 
 
Madden clocked a 32:09 in the 50-yard backstroke to finish second, while freshman Gabby Hoffmann finished fifth with a mark of 36:52. 
 
Williams recorded her first win in the Green and Gold, clocking a 37.25 in the 50-yard breaststroke, while senior Grace Rocheleau clocked a 41.09 to finish fourth. 
 
Sophomore Mia Winslow swam to a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a mark of 1:20.19 and Muskavitch posted a second-place performance in the 50-yard freestyle with a 28.17, followed by sophomore Julia Brown and freshman Riley Crosby who finished fourth and fifth, respectively. 
 
Junior Riley Mahoney posted a score of 141.00 in the one-meter five-dive diving event to pick up her second win of the season. 
 
Winslow tied for third in the 100-yard freestyle, posting a time of 1:06.01, while both Gray and Brown also tied with times of 1:11.99. 
 
Madden, Herrington and Poulin finished back-to-back-to-back in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 1:07.90, 1:13.65 and 1:22.00, respectively, giving Madden a second-place finish in the event. 
 
Williams continued her stellar day by winning her second individual event in the 100-yard breaststroke, posted a time of 1:24.94, while Rocheleau added to the Eagles score with a third-place time of 1:29.08. 
 
Muskavitch, Hoffmann and senior Katarina Christensen posted second, third and fourth-place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle with times of 6:38.61, 6:41.49 and 7:35.01, respectively. 
 
Collins posted a time of 30.72 in the 50-yard butterfly to finish third, while Mahoney picked up her second win on the day in the one-meter, six-dive diving event with a score of 199.35. 
Winslow and Rocheleau finished third and fourth in the 100-yard IM with times of 1:17.48 and 1:18.89, while both of Husson's 200-yard freestyle relay teams finished second and third with times of 1:53.66 and 2:11.42.
 
Husson returns to the pool on Saturday with a trip to Northfield, Vermont with a head-to-head against Norwich University.
