CASTINE, Maine -  The Husson University men's swimming & diving team fell to the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners 157-117 inside Bok Pool on Saturday afternoon, as the Eagles finished with seven wins and 10 second-place finishes.
The Eagles started the day with a win in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:42.71, just out touching Maine Maritime thanks to the efforts of sophomore 
Alex Walsh, sophomore 
Ryan Emerson, sophomore 
Brayden Champlin and sophomore 
Brady Hand.
Junior 
Nathan Gilliam finished second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:09.82. Walsh finished first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:11.05 before earning a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.23). Hand had a pair of second-place finishes in the 50-yard breaststroke (29.68) and the 100-yard freestyle (50.25).
Champlin (23.15) and sophomore 
Sam Peiser (23.72) finished 1-2 in the 50-yard freestyle before junior 
Matt Steeves and graduate student 
Spencer Bernat went 1-2 in the five-dive one-meter optionals with respective scores of 132.30 and 131.40.
In the 50-yard backstroke, Emerson just missed winning the race with a 26.44 earning him a second-place finish before finishing second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.22). Junior 
Hunter Jackson picked up a win in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:12.93.
Champlin picked up a second-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly after swimming a 25.62. Bernat (197.92) and Steeves (173.62) finished 1-2 in the six-dive one-meter diving event. 
Emerson, Champlin, Walsh and Hand ended the meet as members of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team with a mark of 3:22.04.
This concludes the Eagles dual meet season, and they will travel to Piscataway, New Jersey on February 16 for the 3-day Metropolitan Collegiate Swimming & Diving Conference Championship Meet.
