NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Husson University men's swimming & diving team broke three school records in their 160-42 win over Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday morning at Knight Natatorium.

Alex Walsh finished in the top spot in the 200-yard medley relay. They made up the A-Relay team who won the event with a time of 1:51.50. The B-Relay team finished second with a time of 1:52.56. They were made up of sophomore

Ryan Emerson.
Junior
Isaias Therio finished second in the 200-yard freestyle as he was just 1.07 off the winning time of 1:56.50 with a 1:57.57.
In the 50-yard backstroke, Brown earned a second place finish with a time of 30.64.
Gilliam finished first in the 50-yard breaststroke. His time of 32.59 was good enough to edge Carusi who was second at 33.05.
Peiser earned a victory in the 100-yard butterfly. He completed the event in 57.71, earning nine points for the Eagles.
Emerson (22.55), Hand (23.15) and Walsh (23.38) all finished 1-2-3 in the 50-yard freestyle.
Graduate student
Spencer Bernat set a new school record in the 1-meter diving with a score of 270.98 breaking the previous record of 263.05 held by Husson Sports Hall of Fame member Tim Smith '16 for 11 years. Junior
Matt Steeves was second in the event with 215.30 points. Bernat and Steeves swept the top-two places on the podium in the 3-meter diving as well. Bernet broke his own school record with a score of 222.98 while Steeves finished at 186.30.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Emerson (49.74), sophomore
Brayden Champlin (50.44) and Peiser (51.85) earned Husson's second 1-2-3 finish of the meet.
Therio finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.05 before Champlin (25.23) grabbed a victory in the 50-yard butterfly.
Hand set a new school record in the 400-yard individual medley as he finished the event with a winning time of 4:34.70. The previous record of 4:39.41 was set by Gilliam at the 2022 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association Championship. Walsh (4:38.96) and Gilliam (4:49.81) finished second and third in the event to earn Husson's third 1-2-3 finish of the meet.
Carusi, Therio, Champlin and Emerson earned the final victory of the meet for the Eagles by winning the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:35.31.
The Eagles are set to renew their rivalry with Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday, January 27 when they travel to Castine, Maine for a 1 p.m. dual meet.
