BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's tennis team opened their season on Saturday afternoon with a 6-3 loss to Plymouth State University at Bangor High School.

The Eagles got off to a good start taking two of three doubles matches with the pairings of Nicci Munroe/Molly Chicoine and Marisa Brown/Lexi Thompson winning each by a score of 8-4. 

In singles action is where the match was won for Plymouth State as the Panthers took five of the six matches. The lone Eagle singles' victory was Hannah Malinen with a 6-4,6-2 victory over Megan Marshall.

The loss to the Panthers snaps the Eagles' 13-game winning streak and the Eagles will look to start a new one on Thursday when they host Thomas College for a non-conference match on September 9th.
