BANGOR, Maine - The Husson women's tennis team for the first time this season got to play at their home court at Bangor High School as they defeated Lesley University, 8-1, in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon. 

Natalie Tilton and Hannah Malinen were the #1 singles and had themselves quite a match vs. Lesley's number one duo of Brooke Whitten and Morgan Anderson. The Eagles prevailed in the match, 8-7, and cruised to victory in the other two doubles matches by only giving up a single game point. 

In the singles matches; the Eagles won, 5-1. Whitten was able to defeat Tilton in the first singles match while Emily Doten beat Joselyn Martinez, 6-1, 6-2, in the third singles pairing. The other four victories for the Eagles were Hannah Malinen, Nicci Munroe, Marisa Brown, and Olivia Chandler and they all won without giving up a point. 

The women's tennis team will begin a three-game road stretch beginning on Wednesday, September 22nd when they travel to Waterville to take on Colby College with the match starting at 4 p.m.
