Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Eagles continued their 9-0 win streak in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Sunday morning as they took down the Northern Vermont University-Johnson Badgers (1-8, 1-3 NAC). With the win, Husson women's tennis improves to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the NAC.
The duo of Grace Page and Kristen Tirrito competed in No. 1 doubles for the Badgers, but were outplayed by Eagles' Natalie Tilton and Hannah Malinen by a score of 8-1. The Eagles controlled the remaining doubles matches as Ashley Matlock and Nicci Munroe captured the win over Samantha Kershner and Kayla Hammond to the tune of 8-2. Husson pair Marisa Brown and Jocelyn Bell closed out doubles play beating Iris Serrano and Sarah Sylvain, 8-2.
NVU-Johnson's Page faced off against Matlock in No. 1 singles as Matlock captured the win in a tiebreaker set. Kershner dropped No. 2 singles against Tilton by a score of 6-0, 6-0 while Malinen and Julia O'Leary continued the clean sweep of the Badgers without relinquishing a single point. Munroe and Bell helped finish off the sweep of singles play in the afternoon.
The Husson women's tennis team will host Thomas College (Maine) on Wednesday, September 25th for their final home match of the regular season. The match is set to start at 3:30 p.m.
