Women's Tennis Earns Three Consecutive Wins after Defeating Thomas, 9-0

WATERVILLE, Maine - Pushing their successful sweeps to three consecutive matches, the Husson women's tennis team brought home a 9-0 win from Thomas College on Saturday afternoon. 

Paired up as the #1 doubles, Hannah Malinen and Natalie Tilton played in the longest doubles match of the day, winning 8-3 over Thomas' Alexis Nestor and Magan Williams. Grabbing two 8-1 victories for Husson, both Nicci Munroe and Ashley Matlock along with Jocelyn Bell and Marisa Brown helped continue the successes on the overcast day. 

In singles action, #1 single Matlock opened up play with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Nestor and her teammate Tilton proceeded to outscore Terrier Williams, 6-1, 6-4. Husson's Malinen and Julia O'Leary both gave up just one point in their 6-1, 6-0 accomplishments while Munroe was the lone Eagle to not give up a single point, 6-0, 6-0. Wrapping up scoring as the #6 single, Bell finished her afternoon on top, 6-0, 6-2, defeating Thomas' Makayla Guerette. 

The Eagle dive into a four-match homestand as they prepare to host the University of Southern Maine on Thursday, September 19th at 3:00 p.m.
