BANGOR, Maine – For the second time in four days, Husson defeated Thomas (Maine), this time 8-1 on Tuesday at Bangor High School as both teams opened North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) East Division action.

Husson (2-0, 1-0 NEAC East) won five of six singles matches. Meridith Blessard defeated Lindsey Allen 6-4 and 6-1. Charlotte Bednarz took care of Amelia Guimond 6-3, 3-6 and 10-4. Kelsey Pelletier defeated Mia Navarro 6-2 and 6-4. Marisa Brown dispatched Maddelyn Butts 6-1 and 6-0. Samantha Dubay defeated Olita Laraway 6-0 and 6-1. The lone win for Thomas (1-3, 0-1 NEAC East) was on the No. 2 line when Olivia Mora defeated Sarah Smith 8-6.

In doubles action, Blessard and Pratt defeated Allen and Mora 8-1. Bednarz and Smith took care of Guimond and Navarro 8-4. Pelletier and Brown dropped Butts and Laraway 8-0.

Husson travels to Johnson State on Saturday at 12 p.m.
