WATERVILLE, Maine - Husson posted a 6-3 win over Thomas (Maine) in a non-conference match up on Saturday at Thomas College.

Husson's (1-0) Meridith Blessard defeated Thomas' (0-1) Lindsey Allen 6-2, 6-1 on the one-line and Katie Pratt was defeated by Olivia Mora, 6-3, 6-2 in No. 2 singles. Sarah Smith dropped Amelia Guimond on the three-line 6-1 and 6-1. Charlotte Bednarz lost to Mia Navarro in No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-1. Kelsey Pelletier dispatched Sarah Vigue in No. 5 singles 6-0 and 6-0. Marisa Brown took care of Maddelyn Butts on the six-line 6-0 and 6-0.

Allen and Mora defeated Blessard and Pratt in doubles action 9-7. Bednarz and Smith picked up the 8-3 win on the two-line over Guimond and Navarro. Brown and Pelletier dropped Vigue and Butts 8-1.

Thomas travels to Husson on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 3 p.m. to open up North Eastern Athletic Conference East play.
