BANGOR, Maine - Husson posted a 9-0 win over Thomas (Maine) in its first-ever match Saturday at the Bangor High School tennis courts. The Eagles defeated a team picked to finish fourth in the NAC.

Husson (1-0) took just a little under three hours to defeat Thomas (0-3).

In singles action, Meridith Blessard defeated Lindsey Allen 6-2 and 6-0. Charlotte Bednarz dropped Olivia Mora 7-5 and 6-1. Katie Pratt dispatched Amelia Guimond 6-1 and 6-0. Kelsey Pelletier took care of Miangelik Navarro 6-0 and 6-0. Elizabeth Adley defeated Rachel Gillis 6-0 and 6-1.

In doubles action, Blessard and Pratt defeated Allen and Mora 8-2. Bednarz and Smith held off Guimond and Navarro 8-3. Pelletier and Emma Fontaine dropped McAllister and Gillis 8-1.

Husson travels to Thomas on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 4 p.m. ET.
