Nor'easters Too Much for Eagles

Bangor, ME - The Husson University Swimming and Diving Team fought through illness on Saturday, but their efforts were not enough to top the powerful Nor'easters of the University of New England who took the dual meet by a score of 160-74.

The Eagles were able to find some success despite the defecit, notably the diving efforts of Martina Bosse (Brewer, ME) who set the Husson diving record with a six-dive score of 154.45. The home team also took the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay on the backs of Erin Benner (Morrow, OH), Lindsey Workman (Oakland, ME), Hali Fleishman (Brewer, ME), and Amanda Hunter (Sanford, ME) who took home 11 points finishing the race in just over 2 minutes.

Head Swimming and Diving Coach Butch Babin was upset with the result, but proud of the way his girls competed, "Today's meet was a though one. We were undermanned as a few swimmers were sick. We had two more NESDIA qualifiers and one team record broken but the girls gave a good effort overall."

The Eagles will compete again on December 3rd and 4th when they travel to Simmons College in Boston, MA for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships.
