BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England swim team
upped its record to 3-0 with a 170-35 victory over Husson
University on Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center.
The Nor'easters enjoyed a balanced effort, with no swimmers earning
multiple individual victories despite the fact that UNE won all
nine individual races and both relays.
Seniors Erica Johnson (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Ali Wagner
(Monrovia, Calif.) and first-years Allie Travnik (New Lenox, Ill.)
and Lizzie Wareham (Osterville, Mass.) each earned individual
victories and were part of winning relay entries. First-year Hannah
Lipomi# (Enfield, Conn.) swam a leg of the Nor'easters' victorious
200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay teams.
Also picking up wins were juniors Alison Leopard (Bloomington,
Ill.) and Morgan Lawless (Kirkville, N.Y.) and first-years Sara
Shea (Peabody, Mass.) and Lauren Stephenson (Housatonic,
Mass.).
The Nor'easters will have a tough test on Tuesday when they head to
Waterville to take on Colby College in a 6:00 p.m. start. Husson is
idle until the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship on
Dec. 6-7.
