Banister named CNE defensive player of the week

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Conference of New England unveiled its weekly award for football on Monday and Husson University football senior Ryan Banister picked up defensive player of the week honors.

Banister was a force for the Husson defense in a dominant 48-0 win on Homecoming over New England College, racking up eight tackles. Banister totaled five solo stops, three tackles for loss, including two sacks.

Husson returns to action on Saturday for the fifth annual Lobster Trap Game at the University of New England at 1 p.m.
