Leo Kashian enters his third season as the sprints and jumps coach for the women's indoor track & field team in 2017-18.

Prior to Husson Leo coached 2 years as assistant jumps/throws coach of Girls and Boys track at Billerica High School, Massachusetts, 1983 - 1985, then 5 years as sprint/ jump/ hurdle/ relay coach for men and women at the University of Lowell, now U-Mass Lowell 1987-1992. At that time Leo coached 2 Open New England champions, a Men's Hurdler and a Women's High Jumper. The High Jumper went on to set a school record, 5' 10.75" while winning the High Jump at the NCAA Div. II National Indoor Championship. She later went on to win 5th place at the outdoor NCAA Div. II National Championship a 5' 8.25" becoming a double All American. Most recently before coming to Husson He coached 3 years at Caribou Middle School, and 6 years as Head Coach of Girls Cross Country and Boys Outdoor Track at Caribou High School.

While at Husson, he has coached the sprint/ jump/ relays where every men's sprint, jump, and relay school records have been set, as well as numerous women's school records. 

Most recently Leo help lead the Women's team to a 2nd place finish at the NAC Championship meet. There the Husson sprinters set or tied 5 meet records, and came away with 6 individual champions.

In the jumps Husson Women athletes took places 1, 3, 4. and 5 in the High Jump, 2, 4, 6, and 8 in the long jump, and 2, 7 in the triple jump.

On the Men's side, the sprinters were led by a 2nd place finish in the 400 m with a school record, and the anchor leg on the 4 x 400 m relay team. In all, Leo has coached 8 NAC Champions.

Leo is a graduate from the University of Lowell with a B.S. in Industrial Technology, and a Master’s in Education. While at Lowell He was Team Captain his senior year and set school records in the 880 yd. run, 1000 yd. run, 1500 m, and triple jump and placed 3rd  in the Open All New England Championships in the indoor 880 yd. run in 1979 and Eastern Conference Champion in the 1000 yd. run in 1979 and 800 m run 1981.

Leo has a wife, Ann, and 4 children one of which graduated Husson in 2017 and another that will be a Freshman this fall.
