Nate Quirion enters his third straight and fifth overall season as the running backs coach for the Husson football team in 2016. He was also a running backs coach in 2007 and 2008.
With a deep running corps for the 2015 season, Quirion helped the Eagles to a 7-3 mark and a ECAC Bowl Game appearance. Led by 2015 ECFC Offensive Player of Year John Smith, who totaled a single season record 1,733 yards rushing, the Eagle running backs lead the ECFC in rushing touchdowns (28) and ranked second in yards (2,328), attempts (501), yards per game (232.8) and average yards per rush (4.6).
Before returning to Husson, Quirion served as an assistant coach at Bangor High School in 2009 and 2010 followed by Lawrence High School in from 2011-13. Prior to Quirion’s first stint at Husson, he served as an assistant coach at Messalonskee High School from 2002-06.
Quirion is also a physical education teacher in the RSU 18 school district. Quirion played the 1998 season as a running back at Dean College. Quirion earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Husson in 2007.
A native of Winslow, Maine, Quirion attended Winslow High School. Nate and his wife, Nicole live in Winslow, Maine with their son, Dean, and daughter, Brynn.
