Women's Cross Country Posts Strong Finishes at International Meet

FREDERICTON, New Brunswick – The Husson men's and women's cross country teams journeyed up to Canada for the second consecutive year to compete in the RSEQ AUS Interlock Meet at the University of New Brunswick. The women pushed through the humidity walking away with 6th place after running a full 6k for the first time competitively while racing against two of the top 15 teams in Canada, St. Francis Xavier and Dalhousie, taking first and third.

Lindsey Joliat continues to impress, leading the Eagles once again with a time of 26:58 for a solid 27th place finish. Morgan Clifford followed behind less than a minute later in 36th place with a time of 27:53.

Madison Cole and Kelly Broe stuck together during the race to cross the finish line within two seconds of each other for 49th and 50th at times of 31:53 and 31:55.

Other Eagles who competed were Katherine Camire in 52nd at 32:05, Jessica Dessert crossed in 32:56 for 54th, and Shannon Staples arrived in 33:28 for 57th.

Finishing up the scoring was Kaitlin Prescott, Amanda Marcus, and Jessica Giffen who completed the course in 34:59, 35:21, and 39:24 for 61st, 62nd, and 64th.

The women will be back in action on Saturday, September 30 as they travel to compete in the Bowdoin Invitational.
