Joliat Leads Women's Cross Country to Victory at Husson Harrier Invitational

BANGOR, Maine – The Husson women's cross-country team won the 2017 Husson Harrier Invitational on Saturday, walking away with a first, second, and seventh place finish.

Lindsey Joliat finished the 5k run in 21:51 for first place in the meet. Shortly after, Morgan Clifford passed through with a time of 21:58 to take second. Six Husson runners finished in seventh, ninth, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th place. Madison Cole, Katherine Camire, Jessica Dessert, Kelly Broe, Shannon Staples, and Paige Rainford were the runners, in that order. Their respective times, in this order, were 24:50, 25:10, 25:52, 26:56, 27:00, and 27:32.

Finishing up the scoring for Husson was Amanda Marcus in 16th place with a time of 28:49, Kaitlin Prescott in 18th place with a time of 29:16, and Jessica Giffen in 19th place with a time of 29:42.

The Husson cross country and track and field teams combined to raise $400.00 today wth the Red Shoe Run for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine.

Morgan Clifford, Paige Rainford, and Shannon Staples, the teams three seniors, were honored after the meet.

The women will be traveling to Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada for the RSEQ AUS Interlock Meet on Saturday, September 16th.
