Women's Cross Country Takes Third at Fens Classic Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – The Husson women's cross country team opened up their 2017 season at the Fens Classic on Saturday morning, walking away with two top ten finishes and 3rd place overall at the event.

Lindsey Joliat finished the 2 mile run in 13:20 for the Eagles' top time of the day, good enough for 6th place at the meet. Shortly after, Morgan Clifford passed through with a time of 13:32 to take 9th.

Three more Husson runners finished within seconds of each other for 18th, 19th, and 20th; Madison Cole ran a 15:04, Katherine Camire ran a 15:09, and Jessica Dessert was right on their heels at 15:13.

Other Eagles who competed this weekend were Jessica Giffen posting a respectable time of 16:08 (27th) while Kelly Broe, Shannon Staples, Amanda Marcus, and Kaitlin Prescott completed the course in 16:13, 16:18, 16:46, and 17:05 for 29th, 30th, 31st, and 32nd place finishes. Just a few runners later, Emma Murray crossed the line at 20:37 for 35th.

The women's cross country team will be traveling back home to host the Husson Harrier Invitational on Saturday, September 9th at Saxl Park.
