Men's and Women's Cross Country Compete in First Ever International Meet

FREDERICTON, NB —The Husson Unviersity Men's and Women's cross country teams traveled to The University of New Brunswick for the first time in program history and competed against some of the best teams in Canada this past weekend on October 15.

The women finished 13 out of 14 teams while the men finished 13 out of 15 total teams. The women's race saw three of the top teams in Canada with Dalhousie, McGill and Universite Loval. The men saw the top team in all of Canada in Universite Loval and another top team in Xavier University. 

The women started first and leading the way for Husson was Heidi Ntengeri in 81st place. She was followed closely by Morgan Clifford in 93rd, Lindset Joliat in 95th, Sam Martin in 108th and Kelly Kashian in 109th to fill out the Eagles scoring. 

The men were lead by Andrew Balsamo in 72nd place, Derek Hawes in 85th, Josh Wheeler in 93rd, Nick Young in 103rd and Francesco Wright in 107th. Following the meet, the team was able to explore Fredericton and experience Canada.

Both the men and the women will be taking the coming weekend off from racing to get ready for the NAC Championship meet on October 29th.
