  • Eagles Run in NCAA Regionals at Bowdoin

    A pair of Husson runners finished in the top 110 in a field of 353, leading the Eagles to a 34th place finish out of 51 teams at the NCAA Division III Cross Country New England Regional Championships on the campus of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME.
  • Husson Athletics Announces 2010-2011 Athletes of the Year

    Bangor, ME – The Husson University athletics department is thrilled to announce this year’s recipients of the inaugural Male and Female Student Athlete of the Year awards. Under the new direction of Athletic Director Bob Reasso, the athletics department will begin to honor a male and female athlete who exemplify what it means to be a Husson Eagle. This year, two women have each separated themselves from the pack and are each deserving candidates of the inaugural female athlete of the year award. Cross Country runner Angela Stauble and 3 sport athlete – Soccer, Basketball and Softball – Amanda Gifford are each the recipients of the 2011 Female Athlete of the Year Award. Kyle Vanidestine, who plays both Football and Baseball at Husson, has been named the 2011 Male Athlete of the Year.

    Lyndonville, VT - In only their second season as an established Division III Team, the lady Eagles battled frigid temperatures and a snow-covered, hilly course at Lyndon State College and soared to victory as the 2011 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Champions by edging out conference rival Colby-Sawyer.
  • Eagles Place 6th in Maine Championships

    Gray, ME - The Husson cross country team finished 6th in a field of 11 in the Maine State Cross Country Championships at Pineland Farms. Alicia Palmer (Presque Isle, ME) was the top finisher for the Eagles in 43rd place overall, and Angela Stauble (Amherst, NH) finished 51st out of 148 runners.
  • Husson XC Place 7th at Bowdoin Invitational

    Brunswick, ME - The Husson University Cross Country team came in seventh place out of 10 teams at the Bowdoin Invitational this Saturday. The Eagles were led by first year runner Alecia Palmer (Presque Isle, ME) who continues to turn in an impressive rookie season, finishing the 6k course in 24:18 for a 14th place finish.
  • Husson Cross Country Takes On Top Tier Competition

    Orono, ME - The Husson University Cross Country team took the short trip to Orono to compete in a tri-meet against NCAA Division I foes the University of Maine and the University of New Hampshire. While the Eagles were defeated by their higher division opponents, Husson rose their level in the meet, posting some of their best times of the season.
  • Four Eagles Honored with NAC Awards

    Four Husson Athletes were honored by the North Atlantic Conference for their play this past week. Sabrina Vaillancourt was named Player of the Week, while the other three won rookie of the week - Alecia Palmer, Cross Country; David Dubois II, Golf and Philip Frost, Men's Soccer.
  • Eagles Cross Country Takes Home Lyndon's Hornet Invitational

    Lyndon Center, VT - In the women’s Hornet Invitational Cross Country Meet held Saturday on the Lyndon State College campus, Colby-Sawyer’s Brianne Dunn ran to a top time of 17:43 but it was not enough to top the Eagles, as Husson slipped past the Chargers 34-43.
  • Eagles Take 3rd in UNE Invitational

    Biddeford, ME - The Husson Eagles Women's Cross Country team returned home from their second successful meet this season in as many weeks. The Lady Eagles turned in a team score of 76, finding themselves in third place, behind just UNE and USM. The Eagles did defeat 5 NAC schools in the 5k meet.
  • Three Eagles Earn NAC Weekly Honors

    Hannah Olstad and Kara Poirier were selected as the first North Atlantic Conference Players of the Week of the 2011 season in their respective sports, while First Year Cross Country runner Alecia Palmer earned NAC Rookie of the Week.
