BANGOR, Maine – Breaking the Eagles four-game win streak, Saint Joseph's College of Maine (7-14, 3-5 GNAC) took down the Husson University women's volleyball team (5-13, 2-0 NAC) on their home court on Tuesday evening.

The Eagles nearly overtook the Monks in the second set, staking a clear lead, but St. Joseph's (Maine) made a comeback just in time to separate themselves. Kayli Doten showed strength behind the net accumulating four block solos. Adrienne Beatty also helped in the defensive efforts, bumping up 22 digs while once again blasting over four service aces. Adding on to the attack efforts, Hanna Hembrow pushed up 16 assists while Kate Woods followed through on five of those for kills. Mary Grace Power added on four kills and nine digs.
Leading all players in the match, Kelsey Bickford recorded 11 kills and Erin Olson smacked down eight, hitting a respectable .467% while grabbing the only two block solos for the Monks. Bumping up the majority of digs for Saint Joseph's (Maine), Jennelle Thompson racked up 24 while Sarah Dyer proved an asset with double digits in both assists (14) and digs (11). Sophia Randall nearly split assists with Dyer, putting up 11.
This Saturday, October 20th will be a big day for the Eagles, taking on two North Atlantic Conference opponents at Maine Maritime Academy. Husson will play SUNY Canton first at 10:00 a.m. then proceed to play the Mariners at 2:00 p.m.
