Volleyball Sweeps Castleton and Green Mountain at NAC Playdate

CASTINE, Maine – The Husson University volleyball team swept the visiting teams of Castleton and Green Mountain on Saturday afternoon at Castine, Maine, in a North Atlantic Conference playdate.
 
Husson 3 – Castleton 0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-17)
 
The Eagles controlled all three sets from the first serve. They held the advantage in kills (31-7), serving aces (10-3), and digs (39-32).
 
Lindsay Chapman led Husson with 10 kills, five digs and two blocks, and Riley Mooers tallied a match-high 14 assists, while chipping in with four kills, three digs and an ace. Hanna Hembrow led her team with 10 digs, and also added six assists, five kills, and three aces. 
 
Kimberley Jackson led the Spartans with three kills and Maria Jackson recorded a team-best eight digs and three assists.
 
Husson 3 – Green Mountain 0 (25-17, 25-8, 25-17)
 
Once again, the Eagles set the pace and found early sucess in all three sets against the Hornets. Husson finished the match with leads in kills (32-11), serving aces (12-5), and digs (32-21).
 
Bailey Cote led Husson with eight kills, five aces, a dig and a block, Hanna Hembrow chipped in with a team-high seven digs, while also adding five assists, four kills, and an ace and Riley Mooers led the team once again with 16 assists, while also adding five digs, five kills, two aces and a block. 
 
Estela Felix Almedia led Green Mountain with seven digs and five kills and Madison Wheeler led the team with two aces.
 
Husson returns to court Tuesday, October 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine.
