Women's Volleyball Falls to Mariners, 3-0

BANGOR, Maine - Husson University falls to 7-3 on the season with a loss to Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) (4-5). The Eagles lost all three sets to the Mariners on Tuesday evening by scores of 25-14, 25-15, and 25-11.

The Eagles came out strong in every set and kept the score close through the first 10 points. MMA's height and defense overpowered Husson and won all three sets in Newman Gymnasium.

Mary Grace Power and Kaitlyn Woods combined to pace the Eagles with nine of the 15 total kills on the evening. Hanna Hembrow was responsible for assisting on 12 of the 15 kills, while also contributing with two aces. 

On the defensive end, Delaney Chisholm lead Husson with 10 digs. Woods and Hembrow tailled seven digs apiece during the match. Bailey Cote had the lone blocking solo for the Eagles.

Jessica D'Auria and Alexa Cacacie lead the Mariners on the offensive side of the ball with 19 combined kills. Sydney Adams recorded a game high 33 assists, while Maria Perez paced MMA with 24 digs.

The Eagles travel north on Saturday, September 16, to Fort Kent, Maine, to play two non-conference games againt Maine-Fort Kent at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm.
