BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's volleyball program and head coach Taylor Roland-Buohl has released the 2017 schedule.
HU begins it season on Saturday, September 2, by hosting the 4th Annual Husson Invitational. The Eagles will go up against Maine-Machias, the College of St. Joseph (Vt.), Unity College, and Maine-Presque Isle.
Husson will host Maine-Machias on September 5, before heading to Standish, Maine, to participate in the two-day SJC Autumn Invitational (Sept. 8-9). The Eagles will play Maine-Fort Kent, Maine-Presque Isle, and Saint Joseph's (Maine).
The green and gold will play Wednesday, September 13, against Maine Maritime Academy at 7:00 p.m. Husson will travel to Fort Kent to face Maine-Fort Kent for two games (Sept. 16). HU will hit the road once again to travel to Gorham, Maine, to take on the University of Southern Maine Huskies (Sept. 19).
The Eagles will host UMPI on Wednesday, September 20, before traveling to New London, New Hampshire, to take on Colby-Sayer and Amherst. Husson will finish out September by hosting Unity (Sept. 27) and then traveling to Johnson, Vermont, and opening up North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play against Johnson State and Lyndon State (Sept. 30).
The month of October begins with the Eagles on the road against Colby College (Oct. 4) and a quick road trip to Machias, Maine, to face Maine-Machias (Oct. 11). Husson will play NAC rivals Castleton and Green Mountain at Castine, Maine, on Saturday, October 14. HU will play their last road game of the year at Castine against Maine Maritime (Oct. 17). The Eagles will host Colby-Sawyer and New England College for senior day on Saturday, October 21.
The NAC quarterfinals will begin on Saturday, October 28. The NAC tournament continues with the semifinals on Friday, November 3, followed by the championship on Saturday, November 4.
Roland-Buohl enters her second season as the Husson head women's volleyball coach in 2017 with a career record of 15-15. Coach Roland-Buohl led the Eagles to their first winning season since 2012 as a first-year clipboard carrier, as the HU side went 15-15 overall and 5-2 in NAC play under her guidance in 2016. The conference record was good for the #3 seed in the NAC Tournament, allowing the Eagles to host a postseason contest for the first time since 2013.
